  • 1 ripe organic avocado
  • 1 cup chickpeas (or one 15-oz can, drained and rinsed)

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 2-4 tbsp cold water (as needed for texture)

Instructions

  1. Combine the avocado, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and cumin in a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and finish with a drizzle of olive oil and your favorite garnish.
Pro Tip: Add the cold water gradually while blending—this helps create an ultra-smooth, light texture without thinning the flavor too much.
